SchoolFood4Change: when institutions take the lead in the food revolution

23 March 2025

The future of a healthier and more sustainable diet also passes through school canteens, hospitals and RSAs. It is here, between a daily meal and a gesture of care, that a silent but powerful change is being built. And it is precisely to public institutions that the workshop ‘SchoolFood4Change: meeting the institutions replicating the results of the project’, scheduled on 14th May 2025 at the Compraverde Buygreen Forum in Rome, is addressed.

It will be an afternoon of discussion and inspiration, where schools, hospitals and other public realities, at an international level, will tell how they are transforming local food systems, starting from the experiences gained thanks to the European project SchoolFood4Change. An initiative that, through the improvement of school canteens and food education, has shown that the public sector can be a powerful engine for change: a change that can be seen in children’s plates, hospital menus, and community habits.

Strategies, concrete tools and good practices will be at the centre of the debate, in an open dialogue on how to make access to healthy and sustainable diets an everyday reality. The workshop will offer an overview of the most innovative and replicable actions, capable of generating a positive impact not only on the environment, but also on people’s health and quality of life.

The event is reserved for institutions that are already implementing or plan to adopt the results of SchoolFood4Change, and represents a unique opportunity to network, exchange experiences and build new alliances.

The change is already underway: now it is up to the institutions to speed it up and make it permanent.
