CONFERENCE BRUNTLAND HALL

A strong Europe is one that leads the green transition: competitive, respectful and independent

The only possible and rational path toward a stronger, fairer, and more sustainable Europe is through the Green Deal. In a context of profound transformations and global challenges, vision, courage, and targeted investments are needed to ensure a future of peace, development, and well-being. The time to act is now.

A strong Europe is one that shares with all Member States a common vision of development and prosperity, based on sustainability and equity. It is a Union that innovates, fosters competitive and responsible economic growth that respects the climate and the environment, and strives for full energy independence. Sustainability is not an obstacle to development; rather, it is both a necessary condition and a strategic lever to reduce costs across the entire life cycle of products and services, protect resources, improve citizens’ quality of life, and strengthen the economic stability of States. The Green Deal is the cornerstone of this transition, and Green Public Procurement (GPP) is the key tool to turn commitments into concrete actions. Through ambitious environmental criteria, GPP steers the market toward more innovative and responsible production models, rewarding businesses that invest in a circular and inclusive economy, with low carbon emissions and high added value.

The Opening Conference of the Forum Compraverde Buygreen 2025 will be an opportunity to take stock of the current state of the European Green Deal and the crucial role of GPP in achieving an effective ecological transition. During the conference, discussions will focus on how Green Public Procurement can be a driver of change for the market and public policies, encouraging the adoption of sustainable business models and contributing to fairer and more environmentally respectful economic growth. The conference will thus be a decisive moment to address global challenges and outline concrete actions needed to build a stronger, more sustainable, and more independent Europe.
