Common Goods and the Future of Local Areas: First General Assembly of the Agricultural Universities of Lazio
Agricultural universities represent one of the oldest and most relevant forms of collective management of common goods, playing a key role in land stewardship and the sustainable development of inland areas.
Promoted by the Agricultural University of Canale Monterano, which will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2026, the First General Assembly of the Agricultural Universities of Lazio brings together institutions, bodies and local authorities within the Compraverde Forum to initiate a structured dialogue on the future of these organisations. At the heart of the meeting is the need to strengthen their legal and institutional recognition, promote reforms capable of enhancing their role, and build a joint initiative capable of restoring to the Agricultural Universities the strategic function they have historically performed.
Within this framework, collective management bodies can once again become a driving force for economic, environmental and social development, contributing to the regeneration of local areas and the revitalisation of inland regions through sustainable and participatory models.
